WOD Guidance:
Don’t skip leg day! Today is all about being steady and managing the fatigue in our glutes, hamstrings, and quads. While it might be tempting to go out hot on the burpees, this movement will actually wind up being our “pacer” for the workout and the place where we catch our breath. Similar to last week, we want to use a “breathing burpee” technique, where we’re taking a breath at the top of each burpee before descending into the next rep. The entrée for today is definitely the double dumbbell or double kettlebell front squats. This movement is extremely challenging, but our pace on the squats and box jumps overs should allow us to work in bigger sets, either doing 12-8 or going unbroken entirely. This is because we can always move at a jogging pace on box jump overs and burpees, but every break on our squats represents a dead stop in this workout, as well as an additional clean before we can resume our set.
