Treat yourself like someone you’re responsible for saving – Jordan Peterson
I’ve been lucky enough to be doing CrossFit since I was 16 and working as a CrossFit coach since I was 18 years old. At first, I was fascinated by what high level CrossFitters could do. Squat snatches and muscle ups? Running a fast mile and being able to deadlift 5 plates? So cool! But the more time I spent in gyms, the more I realized that the real value in CrossFit comes from the feeling of self-efficacy it builds in everyday people. It’s easy to feel like we lack control in our lives, and confronted with that feeling a lot of people lose out on health, fitness, and community. CrossFit has an incredible way of helping people gain back control of their health, look the way they want to look, and do it all with a group of people that’s positive and encouraging, no matter what our goals are. My favorite part of the job is helping people take care of themselves, and seeing the happiness that comes from that renewed sense of self-efficacy.
